The wagon workshop had commenced, adjoining the Vijayawada in the year of 1974. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad had inaugurated the Godavari rail cum Road Bridge in 1974 which has been built by the South Central Railway. SCR zone was started the first microwave lab in the history of Indian Railway. SCR Zone had incorporated the first electrified driveway from Vijayawada to Guntur on 15th of the December in 1980. The construction of the building is like a fort and the centre of the tourist attraction.
